Gellert Spa Bath – Outdoor Pool
Kindly note that the outdoor pool at Gellert Spa & Thermal Bath—formerly the iconic wave pool featuring not only Budapest’s or Europe’s, but the world’s first artificial wave machine from 1927—has a gradually deepening design, ranging from shallow areas that may be suitable for younger visitors, to significantly deeper sections on the opposite end. – Temperature: 26°C, Water depth: 0.40 m – 2.75 m.
While the outdoor pool is typically open from the end of May through September, it may occasionally require maintenance on short notice. For this reason, we strongly recommend checking availability on the day of your visit, either at the entrance or with staff on site, as access to this pool cannot always be guaranteed.

Hello,
I want to book a spa session for 12 people for the spa & gentle massage package (38euros) on Saturday the 29th of April. I don’t want to pay the whole amount since it is a large amount of money and I want to ensure that there is a time slot at 12.00 because we have organized other activities at 15.00. I also want to know how much time it lasts, and what is the cancellation policy.

My husband and I bought tickets for the baths this morning from our hotel, Buddha Bar, walked to and arrived at the baths by 6.30am. We attended the ticket booth and weren’t greeted as the male was not friendly at all. He then proceeded to tell me that our tickets were only for entry from 9.00am. We were not told this by the hotel and his only option to us was to buy two more tickets (we had very little money and no credit cards on as we were advised not to bring valuables). If there was a difference in entry cost I offered to pay that with my limited funds but he rejected that idea. We were so early it would not have mattered if he let us enter. If you are going to have a person on your front counter I would suggest that they are interested in giving good customer service, or some service at all. We walked back to our hotel and got a refund and told them how unhappy we were. Overall not a good experience. We travelled halfway around the world to be made to feel like a piece dirt and you need to know this……

we are terribly sorry to hear about your bad experience.
Please note that fast track tickets are sold by a third party company with a dedicated fast track entry point, which opens at 9 am each day. That means that there is a separate check-in system for online bookings, or pre-purchased vouchers. This is the reason why your tickets could not have been accepted by the cashiers, and that is why the staff asked you to buy new tickets on the spot (at the same time, claiming a refund for the pre-purchased tickets from the third party).
With the pre-booked tickets, you can enter the baths from 9 am, by presenting them at the Help Desk. Unfortunately, the hotel seems to have failed to inform you about all the check in information, such as the time and place of check-in, which are to be clearly indicated on confirmations, but this information is normally on the confirmation by default, so I am not quite sure how the bad timing for entrance could have happened.
Nevertheless, we have forwarded your feedback to the management in order to be able to improve the customer service at the thermal bath and third parties.
Once again, we are truly sorry about the issue described, and hope that we can welcome you at Gellert spa with a much better experience at your next visit in Budapest.
