Gellert Spa Bath – Outdoor Pool

Kindly note that the outdoor pool at Gellert Spa & Thermal Bath—formerly the iconic wave pool featuring not only Budapest’s or Europe’s, but the world’s first artificial wave machine from 1927—has a gradually deepening design, ranging from shallow areas that may be suitable for younger visitors, to significantly deeper sections on the opposite end. – Temperature: 26°C, Water depth: 0.40 m – 2.75 m.

While the outdoor pool is typically open from the end of May through September, it may occasionally require maintenance on short notice. For this reason, we strongly recommend checking availability on the day of your visit, either at the entrance or with staff on site, as access to this pool cannot always be guaranteed.

  5. Dear Gellert spa & bath

I have just booked and payed for a double visit to your bath the 7. oct with the royal thermal extra massage for 70 min. It is for 2 persons.

I didn’t get a voucher but just the receipt for the payment.
Will that be good for entering Gellert bath?

    • Dear Lars,

thank you for your booking and your comment.
We have already sent you an email informing you that the timetable of the October massages has not been finalized yet. We will send you the actual massage hours of your reservation approx. 2 weeks before your date of visit.
      Thank you for your patience.

      • Thank you.
We are looking forward to visit your bath/spa.

Can you please explain what ‘extra’ mean?

        • Dear Lars,
the Royal Thermal Extra Massage is the therapeutic version of the Royal Thermal Massage.
To enhance the healing and analgesic effects of the treatment, the masseuse applies a special balm – made of goat butter – to the painful parts of the body after the massage.

  6. Question – we have booked a couples massage at the spa but did not bring bathing suits on our travels. Is it acceptable to be naked during massage? If not, what is recommended?

    • Hello Debra,

      thank you for your email.

General rule: Please wear your swimwear for your massage.

If you prefer to be naked or covered in a swim wear can be a crucial aspect of a massage therapy. In Szechenyi Baths the massage therapies are always in a swim wear, but ladies can release the bikini strings if they wish. In general, we suggest talking to your masseuse in advance about your dressing preferences.

I hope I could be of help.
