Gellert Spa Bath – Outdoor Pool

Kindly note that the outdoor pool at Gellert Spa & Thermal Bath—formerly the iconic wave pool featuring not only Budapest’s or Europe’s, but the world’s first artificial wave machine from 1927—has a gradually deepening design, ranging from shallow areas that may be suitable for younger visitors, to significantly deeper sections on the opposite end. – Temperature: 26°C, Water depth: 0.40 m – 2.75 m.

While the outdoor pool is typically open from the end of May through September, it may occasionally require maintenance on short notice. For this reason, we strongly recommend checking availability on the day of your visit, either at the entrance or with staff on site, as access to this pool cannot always be guaranteed.

  1. Hi are there lockers to store stuff? If so, how big ? and do they cost an extra fee?

    • Hello Miranda,
      thank you for your inquiry.
There are tickets with cabins or with lockers. All tickets are sold with some kind of storage space.
The cabin is like a tiny room, or cubicle where you can get changed and store your belongings.
The cabin size is approx. that of a dressing room in a clothes shop, so you can leave there the 20 kg suitcase as well ( if it is a regular size) along with your jackets etc.

The door of the cabin has a unique chip code lock, which opens and closes with a special waterproof bracelet: in fact, with the chip incorporated in the wristband bath entry provided at the bath. Please make sure that your door is locked with the silicon wristband before leaving the cabin. As you are wearing the band all the times, it is quite secure if you make sure that the door is not left open.

The size of the locker is 120x30x65 cm (1200 x 300 x 650 mm)., so it would be too small for your bags.
The lockers are also opened and closed by your wristband.
The tickets with lockers are slightly cheaper than the cabin tickets.
      I hope I could help.

  2. can I buy a ticket for February? Or is that too soon to do right now?

I ordered the massage on 18. nov at 14.00 o’clock.

    • Dear Gerd,
as far as we can see you have booked 2 single 45 min massages.
We will update the booking for you and send you the new confirmation via email.

  4. Hi,
Tell me please, do you provide any towels? For additional payment or price includes it? Thank you in advance
    Tanya

    • Hello Tanya,
although towel rental is available in Gellert Baths, there are often queues building up at the Rental Room (please see on bath map). Please note that the fast track entrance is only for the bath entry, and will not entitle you to have a quicker access to rentals or services.
Therefore, we strongly recommend bringing your own towel to avoid some unnecessary inconvenience. The towels can be rented with a deposit of HUF 2,000, and a towel rental fee of HUF 1,000 (cash only, both).
Hope we can welcome you at Gellert Spa!
