Taking photos of the building from the outside is no problem at all. However, taking photos inside the baths is subject to a photo permit provided by the Marketing Department of the Baths.
Please note, that as you take photos of others, they may also take photos of you. According to the general etiquette, it is not considered to be polite to take body pictures of half naked people without their expressed permission, but it is acceptable to take panoramic photos in the baths and pools. Please respect other people’s privacy and refrain from photography if they refused to be on your picture.
Also, please leave your brand new and high tech hand camera or video equipment at home, especially if you would just leave it by the pool while you are in the water and there is no one to take care of them, as your belongings are not insured via the spa entry ticket. Please bear in mind that there are no security cameras observing the pools either. It is you who are fully responsible for looking after both yourself and your valuables. Obviously, the lockers and cabins are for storage. Rarely though, some accidents have happened (e.g. some guests simply forgot to close their locker or cabin door), so please leave your precious items at home rather than taking unnecessary risks.

Hello, I would like to know if I should have a permit to take personal use pictures with my GoPro camera once I’m inside the baths. Thanks for your help
Dear Pablo,
photos, videos can be taken inside the Baths but only for your own private use, and only if there are no other people in the pictures.
If you wish to publish the photos, I’m afraid you will need to ask for a photo permit even if it is a microblog or a smaller website.
Have a nice stay in Budapest and hope we can welcome you at Gellert Spa Baths!
Hello and thanks for the info. I do not intend to publish the fotos in any blog or website. Just personal use as stated. So I understand I do not need a special permit in this case. Regards, and thanks again!
Hello,
I would like to visit your spa next week and I would like to take pictures inside with my phone and for my personal use. Do I need to request the permit in this case?
Thank you in advance.
Alena
Dear Alena,
you do not need to ask permission if you are taking pictures for your own use.
Have a great time at the baths!

Dear Chevallier,
Thank you for your questions.
According to the general etiquette, it is not considered to be polite to take body pictures of half-naked people without their expressed permission, but it is acceptable to take panoramic photos in the baths and pools. Please also enquire at the Help Desk.
Have a great day.
Hello
I will be visiting Budapest in July and would love to take some photos inside the baths, of thee buildings not people. I understand these permits are only available from the Marketing department. Can you please help with how I contact them?
Many thanks
Bryan
Hello Bryan,
Thank you for your inquiry about a photo permit in the baths.
Photos can be taken inside the Baths but only for your own private use, and only if there are no other people in the pictures.
If you wish to publish the photos, I’m afraid you will need to ask for a photo permit even if it is a micro blog or a smaller website.
Please send an inquiry to the following email address: info@budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu
Thank you for your understanding.
Please let me know if I can help more.
I understand that photos for personal use do not require a permit. If someone is taking their own pictures (of themselves) for personal use, can a mini monopod or mini tripod be used? So as to avoid having to ask random people to take pictures and disturbing their time.
