Check in at Gellert Spa

The QR code reader self-check-in point awaits guests who have pre-booked bath tickets. It means a expedited entry service, so if you book your ticket or massage online, you don’t have to join the lines at the cashier, just approach the QR code reader with your printed email confirmation (or you might use it with a smartphone).

After check-in your thermal bath e-ticket will be exchanged with a waterproof wristband, which will be your actual chip enabled key to your cabin as well (the wrist watch style silicon band includes a little chip).

All of the massage packages in Gellert Baths include the bath entry with fast track, skip the line access to all the pools, saunas, steam rooms, and of course your very own private area, the bath cabin used for storage and getting changed. – massages are currently not available on our website

Book your massage now and secure your preferred massage hours on the following page: Massages in Gellert Spa

How to find the check in point for expedited QR code entries and online reservations?

The check in point (green dot on the map) can be approached from the Main Entrance (shown with a red dot in the map). As Gellert Bath has its own entrance, independent from the entrance of Hotel Gellert, the best way to find us easily is to stand with your back to the river Danube, and enter the Gellert building on the right hand side, by the Gellert Hill.

Opening hours:

9 am – 7 pm every day.

Your ticket is valid from 9 am to 7 pm for the requested date (last entry 5.50pm)

  1. Hello,

We are trying to purchase spa tickets for either December 31st or January 1st but the website is not giving us the option. Is it still possible to come to the baths on those days? Thank you!

    • Dear Mary,

Thank you for your comment. Based on a managerial decision no fast track/online tickets are going to be sold during the upcoming Festive Season (between Dec 24, 2019, and Jan 07, 2020). The bath will be open from 10 am on 1st Jan, 2020 and you can purchase tickets on the spot. Please note that Gellert Spa is a very popular destination for tourists so you are kindly recommended to go there early because the tickets will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. For further details please visit this website: http://gellertspa.com/gellert-spa-opening-times-on-new-years-eve-and-new-years-day

Have a great time in Budapest!

    • Good evening
I am trying to buy tickets for 25th December 2019. I see from pr virus message that no online tickets e being sold. Can you advise if we will be able to buy tickets on the day and if so what time do you open.

      Thank you

      Hilary

      • Dear Hilary,
Unfortunately, there will be no fast track entries or cabins (changing cubicles) sold during the upcoming Winter Holiday Season (between Dec 24, 2019 – Jan 7, 2020) based on a managerial decision. Please note that the baths will be open, however, we kindly suggest that you go there early because tickets/massages will be sold on the spot on the first-come-first-served basis.
Please find more details, advice and other thermal bath alternatives on the following link: BathsBudapest.com/Dec
        Have a great day.

        • Hi, are the baths open between January 9 and 11? I’m coming with my girlfriend but I saw I can’t buy the online tickets. Thanks.

          • Dear Luca,
Thank you for your comment. Please check back again for updates for the 2020 price list in December. We expect a slightly higher price for next year’s prices (about 1-2 Euros, and will be effective from Jan 2020). Online booking from 7th Jan 2020 will be available soon.
            Have a great day.

        • Hi,
is it possible to book a massage online for our family the first of January 2020 or just the bath are open that day? Thank you for letting us know how to proceed exactly.

          • Dear Natacha,
Thank you for your comment. We will open the bookings soon for January 2020, please check back in December.
            Have a lovely day.

          • Hi Natacha,

            Thank you for your question.

Online booking is not possible during the upcoming Festive Season (between 24th Dec, 2019 and 7th Jan, 2020) based on a managerial decision. January 1st is an outstandingly popular day for the bath so we kindly recommend showing up early on that day to secure your entry.

We wish you a wonderful rest of the evening!

  2. Hi, there,
we are going to stay gellert hotel and use gellert spa in second half of the January 2020. Have some questions before complete booking for gellert hotel:
    – do you have special discounts for gellert hotel guests?
    – if we buy DAY entrance ticket to spa , could we enter just 1 time per day, or we could enter 2 or 3 times per same day , say once in morning once in evening ?

  3. I have a reservation for tomorrow at 10:ooh (massage with cabin), from GET YOUR GUIDE (booking reference GYGX7RMZ63HW), but I would like to get there earlier. Is it all right arriving at 9:00h?
And I also would like to go to the spa with my luggage, in order to go with a taxi directly to the airport, after the massage. Is it possible?
I’m waiting to hearing from you,
    Best wishes

    Lucia Romano

  4. Hello!

I can see from some of the messages above that there is no booking available for the Christmas period. However, we are 9 girls traveling from Norway, and we would love a visit with massages at your spa. It is a bit risky to show up 9 people and hope for a spot, is there really no way you can accommodate us/help us make a reservation?

    Thanks!
    Anna

    • Dear Anna, Thank you for your inquiry about services between Dec 24, 2019, and Jan 07, 2020 in the baths. While we normally would recommend online bookings to secure your appointments or entries, during the Winter Festive Season (Christmas and New Year – Dec 24 – Jan 7) the city attracts half a million extra tourists, which makes online fast track tickets to Szechenyi Baths and Gellert Spa simply non-fast track, and ticket holders are often held back in the – otherwise peaceful and expectant – crowds gathering around the entrances. Hence the managerial decision was made that no fast track entries or cabins (changing cubicles) are sold during the festive days, with the notable exception of the pre-NYE night party tickets, which will be bookable for December 30 as usual in Gellert Spa.
Guests of day time visit will be checked in on a first-come-first-served basis. Unfortunately, we expect long queues due to the increased demand, even long lines in the cold. Please find more details, advice and other thermal bath alternatives on the following link: BathsBudapest.com/Dec

  5. Camilla Skiffard-Holm

    Dear Gellert Spa,

We are a group of 5 who would like to book entrance (5 pax) and a 60-min massage (4 pax (3 gentle and 1 firm)) for tomorrow (22 Nov). We expect to arrive at the spa around 13-14pm so would like to book massage for 15-16pm, and we would prefer the massages during the same time period so that we dont potentially have to wait for an hour for each other finish.

It seems a little tricky to do this online and to ensure that we get the masseages at the same time, especially when its different types of masssages. Can you maybe assist me in this?

    Thanks

    /Camilla

    • Dear Camilla,
      thank you for your inquiry.
Unfortunately, all massages have been booked up in advance (days, weeks ago). That said, please do inquire on the spot upon checking in.
We are sorry that we could not accommodate your group request at such short notice.

Wishing you a lovely thermal bath relaxation in Budapest.

  6. Dear Gellert Spa,

We are a group of 4 who would very much like to book tickets, for Dec 12, for massages and private bath. Is this possible? Is also my sister’s birthday so if you have something special for this I would love to know. We would also like to have massages and private baths together.

Hoping to hear back from you,
    Maria J. Salazar

    • Sorry I got the dates wrong, its December 22nd.

      • Dear Maria,
        Thank you for your inquiry.
There are several available options for a package with private bath for the 22nd December, that also includes Dinner Cruise on the Danube. Please have a look at the booking page: http://gellertspa.com/private-bath-massage-cruise-package-booking or let us know if you have any further questions via email: info (at) bathsbudapest (dot) com
We hope that you will have a great Spa experience in Budapest!

        • Dear Gellert Spa,
Thank you for your prompt reply, If I reserve two packages of two people each, can you ensure that all 4 of us will be together in the same private bath? Also, the private bath is only for us or is it going to be shared?
          Thank you.

          • Dear Maria,
The Private Bath’s area is completely separated from the general public bath and pools. Only guests renting the Private Bath can have access to the Private Bath Tub and its historical room built-in 1918. If you wish to enjoy Gellert Spa in privacy, we recommend reserving the Private Bath. Please see more info about the reservation, prices and conditions: http://gellertspa.com/gellert-spa-private-bath

Massage packages include entry ticket to the main Spa complex (pools, sauna, gym etc), your massage and cabin usage. If you buy double massages for two people, please mention in the comment section (when booking) your preference, so we will try to accommodate your request.
            I hope this helps.
