The QR code reader self-check-in point awaits guests who have pre-booked bath tickets. It means a expedited entry service, so if you book your ticket or massage online, you don’t have to join the lines at the cashier, just approach the QR code reader with your printed email confirmation (or you might use it with a smartphone).
After check-in your thermal bath e-ticket will be exchanged with a waterproof wristband, which will be your actual chip enabled key to your cabin as well (the wrist watch style silicon band includes a little chip).
All of the massage packages in Gellert Baths include the bath entry with fast track, skip the line access to all the pools, saunas, steam rooms, and of course your very own private area, the bath cabin used for storage and getting changed. – massages are currently not available on our website

How to find the check in point for expedited QR code entries and online reservations?
The check in point (green dot on the map) can be approached from the Main Entrance (shown with a red dot in the map). As Gellert Bath has its own entrance, independent from the entrance of Hotel Gellert, the best way to find us easily is to stand with your back to the river Danube, and enter the Gellert building on the right hand side, by the Gellert Hill.

yes, double massages are for two people (couples or friends), so it will be in the same room and at the same time. If you buy entry ticket with cabin, you can share it, as well as store your belongings.

the bath management has decided to put a temporary hold on online fast track reservations due to the increased visitor numbers between Dec 24 2019, and Jan 7 2020, for the Christmas period, which attracts hundreds of extra tourists.
The sheer extra number makes online fast track tickets to the Thermal Baths non-fast track, as ticket holders are often held back in the – otherwise peaceful and benign – crowds gathering around the entrances.

Gift vouchers for this year are only available (and valid) until 30th Dec 2019, and for the next year are only available from the beginning of January 2020, and will be valid until the end of the year (Dec 30, 2020). I was wondering if Gellert spa is open between 29 dec – 2 jan.
Some friends of mine are coming over and we would like to go to the spa one day.
On the website I see red crosses on these days in Dec. I cannot find info yet on January.
So, are you open?
If not, could you recommend some other thermal bath in Budapest that is open during the Christmas holidays?

thank you for your inquiry about services between Dec 24, 2019, and Jan 07, 2020 in the baths. While we normally would recommend online bookings to secure your appointments or entries, during the Winter Festive Season (Christmas and New Year – Dec 24 – Jan 7) the city attracts half a million extra tourists, which makes online fast track tickets to Szechenyi Baths and Gellert Spa simply non-fast track, and ticket holders are often held back in the – otherwise peaceful and expectant – crowds gathering around the entrances. Hence the managerial decision was made that no fast track entries or cabins (changing cubicles) are sold during the festive days, with the notable exception of the pre-NYE night party tickets, which will be bookable for December 30 as usual in Szechenyi Baths. Guests of day time visit will be checked in on a first-come-first-served basis. Unfortunately, we expect long queues due to the increased demand, even long lines in the cold.
